Deputy President William Ruto has urged the Maasai community to back the President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Thursday in Kilgoris, Narok county, Ruto noted that the Jubilee administration had delivered key pledges made to Kenyans in the run up to the 2013 general elections, and therefore deserved a second term.
"We have initiated many development projects in the field of health, energy, education and infrastructure all aimed at transforming the lives of Kenyans," Ruto said.
He further asserted the government's commitment to ensuring peace and unity as the country gears up for the August polls.
"It is only the Jubilee Administration that is committed to the unity of this country," he said.
His remarks were reiterated by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, who urged the community to reject the Opposition alliance NASA during the next polls.
