Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe admits that the party will have to do extra to solidify Deputy President William Ruto's support in 2022.
Amid silent revolt from Mt. Kenya region, Murathe says the party could retain President Uhuru Kenyatta as party leader to galvanise support for Ruto as pay back.
"It is true that some people (from Mt. Kenya) may not vote him and some could opt to stay at home and as a party, we want to put strategies to avert such scenarios.
"We have pushing for Uhuru to remain as our leader to mobilise Central Kenya for Uhuru. The dissent is growing and we must contain if before it gets out of hands," he said.
For two successive elections, Ruto played a pivotal role in cementing Uhuru's victory, a move that makes Uhuru to plot a payback.
Already, Ex-Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has hinted that DP Ruto's support in Central Kenya is not guaranteed.
