Deputy President William Ruto now claims that the National Super Alliance ( NASA) leaders have already sensed defeat ahead of August 8th general elections.
Speaking during a political rally in Kericho county on Thursday, Ruto said NASA principals had hatched a scheme aimed at tarnishing IEBC's reputation and force the formation of a coalition government.
"It is not a secret that NASA is not ready for the August 8th elections and have been going in circles trying to circumvent the polls,” Ruto said as quoted by The Standard.
The DP took a swipe at the Opposition alliance saying that they do not know how to conduct political campaigns and instead of going to the Kenyans to seek their votes, they are busy holding press conferences in Nairobi thinking that they will form a 'nusu mkate' government if Jubilee wins in August.
"They have since gone to court over the ballot papers printing tender and we are telling them that if they have a problem with the IEBC secretariat, CEO Ezra Chiloba, let even Musalia Mudavadi be the CEO of IEBC. The only way to be elected is to go meet the people of Kenya for they are the ones to decide who wins," he said.
On Wednesday, NASA chiefs Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) demanded the resignation of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, claiming that he was present in a statehouse meeting that finalized the awarding of the controversial ballot paper printing tender to a Dubai based firm Al Ghurair.
"We have information that CEO Ezra Chiloba and Director Kassait were used by Jubilee administration to award the tender to the Dubai firm, we want them to resign," said Mudavadi.
