Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has lashed at DP Ruto’s allies for having a list of preferred candidates in the county. Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has also alleged that there is a plot to rig out certain people during the Friday nominations. The aides that the two are complaining about are Reuben Maiyo and Farouk Kibet. This comes after Jubilee and Deputy President William Ruto assured aspirants of free and fair primaries.Speaking at Ziwa market, Mandago said Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki is a project to end his (Mandago’s) rule in Uasin Gishu. On his part, Sudi said that Maiyo and Farouk will not have their way. There are also complaints that some aspirants have been met by Ruto’s close friends.“We know they are doing it without the knowledge of the DP, but we will not allow them to have their way,” Sudi said. However, the accused denied the claims and said it was an attempt to have a reason for failing during nominations. Farouk denied meeting selected aspirants.“Since the campaigns started, I have not been to any political function or spoken to any aspirant. The only place I visit is the church to pray and go back home. All that propaganda is nonsense because I have no power to influence how people will vote. I am not a Jubilee Party official. If anything, I have only one vote – for President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Farouk denied the claims as quoted by the Star.
