While the DP has called for immediate prosecution of the culprits, a section of leaders from the region have directly linked him to the predicaments.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Soy counterpart Caleb Kositany struggled to address hundreds of farmers as Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago watched helplessly.

“We are being called cartels yet we are the real farmer. People like Kipchumba Murkomen have been attacking those who defend us,” said David Chepsiya, one of the representatives.

“We demand for our money and we are not going to entertain cheap politics from people who have been mistreating us,” he added.

The two were accused of defending cartels with farmers threatening o ‘teach’ them a lesson in 2022 elections.

But while addressing the crowd, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter and his Moiben counterpart Silas Tiren were cheered by the crowd.
