Just a day after president Uhuru Kenyatta proposed a thorough lifestyle audit on public servants as a measure to fight graft, a section of DP William Ruto's allies have faulted the move.
At Nyamira, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose said the lifestyle audit cannot effectively ascertain whether one is corrupt of not.
"That is a poor suggestion and it can incriminate some people just for nothing. People do not just depend on salaries," he said.
In fact, Uhuru has already instructed NIS to investigate public servants as he seeks to stamp authority on fight against corruption.
Speaking at Ikobe, Nyamira Women Representative Jerusha Momanyi also faulted he move adding that the president should have first focused on the cases at hand.
"I am not opposed to lifestyle audit but they must come with parameters. Some leaders own multiple businesses some registered under family names. We should instead use the polygraph test."
County Speaker Moffat Teya and Majority Leader Duke Masira also asked the government to use polygraph test to vet public servants.
Earliar, a Jubilee politician from the region had argued that the lifestyle audit is a clever way of eliminating DP Ruto politically.
