Vocal Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny argues that President Uhuru Kenyatta's surprise deal with Raila Odinga could throw DP William Ruto's succession politics into tatters.
In a detailed column at a local newspaper, Kutuny further says Uhuru's political star is rising while that of his deputy Ruto could be at the weakest point.
"Mr Kenyatta's latests gymnastics shows that he is rising politically when Mr Ruto's appears to be at weakest point in politics," he wrote.
The entry of Mr Odinga, he says, could provide populous central Kenya with options despite Ruto sticking with Uhuru for the last two elections.
Further, Kutuny adds, Ruto's political battles with a section of Rift Valley leaders could sabotage his quest for State House.
"The coming together of political nemesis provides the Kikuyu nation with an option for Kenyatta's succession in 2022.
"Uhuru's surprise turnaround to work with Odinga has given Kenyans particularly the Kikuyu nation a Raila succession option," he added.
While Uhuru has maintained that he will support Ruto in 2022, their agreement is however gentleman since it is unwritten.
