Speaking during a press conference at Parliament Buildings on Tuesday, the legislator who also doubles up as Jubilee Party's chair in Bungoma County termed Ruto's heckling reports as "sheer propaganda by Jubilee detractors", adding that the DP's itinerary did not include Bungoma town.

“This is social media propaganda, being driven by our competitors, who fear Jubilee’s inroads in. the county. You can’t heckle somebody who is not present in the first place,” the Star quoted the legislator.

“Nobody heckled the Deputy President. The Deputy President was not in Bungoma town where the said rowdy youth booed him," he added.

According to media reports, the Deputy President was compelled to cancel a rally that was to take place at the Bungoma Bus Station, after rowdy youths reportedly barricaded the venue.

Walukhe was elected on an ODM Party ticket in the 2013 general elections and has since decamped to the Jubilee Party.
