Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu and his deputy James Nyoro have decided to bury the hatchet and work together.
This is after Deputy President William Ruto warned the two against fighting at the expense of service delivery.
The truce comes three days following Ruto's visit to the county during which he told the leaders to behave themselves.
Governor Ferdinand Waititu, his deputy James Nyoro, Senator Kimani Wamatangi and Woman Representative Gathoni Wa Muchomba agreed to work together following a closed door on Monday.
The Jubilee allied politicians appeared to have heeded DP Ruto's call for peace and order in Kiambu after months of wrangling.
“I ask all leaders from this region to work together like brothers and sisters. You should not use all your energies to bring shame. Do not bring shame to us. If you continue, I will come back with a whip," Ruto warned.
Ruto's warning came amid a growing rift between Waititu and Nyoro.
The Kiambu deputy governor accused his boss of sidelining other leaders in the running of county affairs. Waititu dismissed the claims by his deputy and accused an unhappy Nyoro of skipping crucial cabinet meetings.
On the other hand, Wa Muchomba and Senator Wamatangi also had their own share of issues with the Kiambu governor. The Woman Rep claimed the governor had planned to eliminate her.
