Deputy President William Ruto is considered one of the frontrunners in the approaching 2022 race for the statehouse.
However, despite having announced his candidature in advance, Ruto remains mum on his possible running mates in the contest.
Here are some of the politicians likely to feature in his list of possible deputies;
Raila Odinga
The Opposition leader should he accept the offer, would perfectly fit in the position.
Bringing with him his Luo Nyanza absolute support base and a huge chunk of the Western Kenya voting block, Odinga would surely hand Ruto a win.
The former Premier also enjoys support from the Coast, Kisii and North Eastern regions, an advantage that would lead to an easy victory added to Ruto's national backing.
Musalia Mudavadi
Another option would be Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi.
The soft-spoken leader is also a national figure who enjoys a countrywide backing.
Though currently grappling with the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) downfall, Mudavadi too would boost the DP's candidature should he be considered for the slot.
Alfred Mutua
Also probably to be on the list is the Machakos Governor.
The young county boss was recently rated the best among his counterparts on matters county development, a factor that could convince the majority of Kenyans to back his side in the polls.
His young age is also likely to attract the youth who make up the biggest portion of the Kenyan electorate.
Mutua has, however, also announced his ambition for the same post, with Ruto likely to have an uphill task acquiring his backing should he settle for him.
