Deputy President William Ruto has hatched a mega plan that would see him revive his old ties with former Nyanza province, reveals the Standard.
Buoyed by his recent hug with Raila Odinga, Ruto, who had lost favour in the region due to his persistent attacks on Raila, is said to have laid down a strategy to reclaim the region.
His points-man George Oyugi, says the DP has already reached out at former MPs who may have lost narrowly in August elections.
"Ruto's campaign machine is being assembled and you will be shocked to know who are in the team from Luoland," he said.
Last month, former Kaspul Kabondo MP Sylnanus Osele and his Ndhiwa counterpart Agostino Neto publicly endorsed Ruto's presidency.
And in the populous Gusii region, Ruto has already captured support of over 90 percent of elected leaders a part from few ODM leaders.
Just last week, several leaders led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, rallied behind Ruto when he toured the region.
"We all know that dynasties have ganged against him and we must stand with him. Evenually, we shall deliver the victory," he said.
Also, Ruto is said to be working with Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i to unite the Abagusii community behind a single political party.
