Speaking to the press in Kaptarakwa, Ruto junior said he will soon make a decision on the matter - when the right time comes.

"I have not yet decided whether to run for this seat or not, but soon I will come out and make my intentions known," the 29-year-old said.

“I have been receiving demands from Turbo residents to contest for the parliamentary seat and I want to assure them that I will make that decision soon,” he added.

This comes amid speculation that DP Ruto was grooming his son to follow into his footsteps.

He has been accompanying his father to political events and public functions.

The Turbo parliamentary seat has attracted a number of political heavy weights including the incumbent MP Elisha Busienei, Isaac Maiyo, businessman Kevin Okwara, Governor Jackson Mandago’s political advisor Janet Rotich among others.
