DP Ruto’s strongmen wins in Rift Valley as August polls take shape

Deputy President William Ruto’s right hand men seemed to have carried the day in the ongoing Jubilee nominations, a strong indication of his preparedness for 2022 presidential bid.

Despite simmering political temperatures and wrangles from Ruto’s perceived enemies, his alleged preferred candidates were declared winners.

Keen to win governorship posts, Ruto’s ally and outgoing Nandi senator Stephen Sang won Nandi governorship after beating heavyweights Henry Kosgei, Felix Kosgei and incumbent Cleophas Lagat.

In strategic Bomet County, Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso, emerged winner and will be facing DP’s fierce critic and incumbent Isaac Rutto, who has since teamed up with opposition NASA.

Shockingly, in Baringo County, a newcomer and a close ally of DP William Ruto Mr Stanley Kiptis floored incumbent Benjamin Cheboi.

Alex Tolgos OF Elgeyo Marakwet easily defended his ticket same as Ruto’s fierce defender in national politics Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

In Kericho, Prof, Paul Chepkwony won the Jubilee ticket and vowed to fight CCM wave in South Rift being staged by Governor Isaac Rutto.

Perhaps the DP’s ‘bad’ result could be in Uasin Gishu where his alleged preferred candidate and businessman Zedikiah Bundotich alias Buzeki who seems to trail incumbent Jackson Mandago.
