Deputy President William Ruto has asked Kiambu politicians embroiled in power wrangles to end their political animosity and focus on service delivery.

Speaking when he toured Kikuyu Town on Friday, Ruto said that political animosity and wrangles among elected leaders is not good for development.In reference to Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his deputy James Nyoro's political feud, Ruto said that there is no time for internal wrangles.He said that elected leaders must settle down and work for Kenyans who elected them to office in last year’s general election.The DP said that the political animosity among some Kiambu leaders is painting the county in bad light.“You (Kiambu elected leaders) must stop embarrassing us with these unnecessary noises or else I come here and whip you into order,” the DP said on Friday.Ruto stated that elected leaders must be responsible and provide the right leadership to Kenyans.Governor Waititu and his deputy are embroiled in leadership wrangles.This comes after Nyoro accused Governor Waititu of allegedly sidelining him and the entire county executive on key matters.On Monday, Nyoro said that working under Waititu is torturers for him.Waititu has however rubbished Nyoro’s claims terming them as false propaganda meant to frustrate service delivery in Kiambu.A section of Kiambu politicians have appealed to Waititu and Nyoro to shelve their differences for the sake of development.
