Deputy President William Ruto has warned opposition leader Raila Odinga over threatening Kenyans with violence.
Speaking on Sunday, October 29 while attending a church service in Nairobi, Ruto condemned Raila's newly formed resistance movement. “Raila Odinga out of his own will chose not to participate in the presidential elections. Innocent Kenyans have nothing to do with his decision. I urge him to stop threatening our peace,” Ruto said.He added that Kenyans who freely took part in the October 26 repeat poll cannot be disenfranchised by a single person who wants to fulfil his quest for power.Due to the raised political tension, the deputy president promised to protect the lives of Kenyans and at the same time guard their property against any marauding resistance movement supporters. He asked the opposition to recognise their duty and let the majority of Kenyans go on with their daily lives.Political tension is rising each day as many Kenyans wait for IEBC chair to give his final tally of the repeat poll results where the opposition withdrew its flag bearer.Raila is also expected to give a way forward on the newly formed resistance movement.
