The Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko has directed the police to investigate a row over office space at City Hall.

On Tuesday, Tobiko directed CID boss Ndegwa Muhoro to launch a probe into the row that led to a clash on April 7.

Three people were left injured.

Last week the County Assembly summoned Mr Tobiko and Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet to give a brief on the status of their investigations regarding the matter.

Tobiko failed to appear before the Assembly’s Select Committee on Powers and Privileges on Tuesday.

He responded through a letter to the committee.

“I have been directed by the DPP to direct you to immediately and urgently commence thorough investigations into the complaint and submit the resultant police file to the DPP for perusal and directions within 14 days from the date hereof,” read the letter signed by deputy DPP Nicholas Mutuku.
