The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has appointed thirteen (13) senior prosecutors to prosecute suspects linked to the fresh Sh9 Billion scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS).
According to Senior Prosecution Counsel, Duncan Ondimu, the DPP will personally lead the prosecution team in court.
Mr Ondimu said that the NYS suspects will be arraigned in court tomorrow (Tuesday).
"A team of 13 senior prosecutors appointed by the DPP will lead the case in court tomorrow ," he told journalists at Milimani Law Courts on Monday.
The senior prosecutor who is authorized to speak to the media said that the suspects will be arraigned before Anti- Corruption Magistrate Douglas Ogoti on Tuesday.
Several Suspects in the fresh NYS scam have been arrested and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) for further questioning.
Among those arrested is Public Service Principal Secretary (PS) Lilian Mbogo Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai and others.
On Sunday, the DPP approved 10 files relating to the fresh NYS scam for prosecution.
