The Director of Public Prosecution, Keriako Tobiko has faulted a Kibera Law Court judge after he slashed a cash bond to two people alleged for drug trafficking in the country.
The two are a British national and a Kenyan identified as Francis Mwanthi.
They were allegedly found in possession of drugs amounting to Sh598 million.
Appearing before judge Derick Guto, the two were released on a Sh70 million and Sh30 million bond respectively.
However, the DPP faulted the judge over the ruling saying the mistake of the two should be treated as a serious offence since is one of the crimes being taken seriously by the government.
Tobiko also argues that by allowing the England tourist out of the prisons could help him not attend court sessions. He said that this could temper with investigations into the matter.
Tobiko now wants the two back in prison as they are a threat to investigations. However, Judge Guto had ruled that the two be released and their hearing scheduled for August 23.
