Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko has said his office needs enough time to study the Supreme Court full judgment before issuing any direction.According to the Star, a team of election from Tobiko's office is studying the judgment before recommending for action against IEBC officials linked to the mismanagement of August 8 polls.Pressure has been mounting on the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions from NASA leadership and lobby groups since the Supreme Court verdict on September 1 to move with speed to investigate electoral commission officials involved in bungling election.
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati after the verdict that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection nullified asked Tobiko to urgently investigate and prosecute any officer linked to the election malpractice.Tobiko, however, insisted that he would only bring to launch the investigation into officials behind the poll illegalities and irregularities once the full judgment is delivered.
