The Saturday event held at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies was attended by various stakeholders, who hailed Amollo for his good work.

Amollo was retiring after serving CAJ, which is also known as Ombudsman, for five years. Dr Amollo has been in the lead in fight for justice for various complainants and victims of injustice, as the first Ombudsman chairperson.

He urged the Commission to continue working towards fulfilling its mandate, despite pressure and criticism.

"Even though I'm retiring, Obudsman is not retiring. I have left able persons and colleagues who are best fitted to run the Commission. They helped me in achieving various targets that we had set, which is very good for Kenyans,'' said Dr Amollo.

He asked Kenyans to remain united ahead of the 2017 polls, and further asked the government to ensure security for all.

Before his appointment on November 2011, Dr Amollo served as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
