Speaking to Daily nation, Dr Musyoka said that women from the county are shying away from politics and other fields, which should not be case.

The women rep said that she keeps encouraging women not only to enter the political arena but also exploit business opportunities. In response to the plans that she has for women in her county, the women rep said that it is her greatest desire to see women attend school and take over the business industry.

“I am a typical Kenyan woman eager to see things changing for the better especially for women and families,” she said.

According to Dr Musyoka, there are many things that favor women from Machakos as far as business is concerned.

“Due to the proximity to Nairobi, I know there is great potential for business growth in our county. We have trained more than 2,000 women and youth and given them starter kits to start businesses,’’ she said.

A third born in a family of five, Dr Musyoka added that the making it in the field of politics where men dominate has not been easy. Before joining politics, she used to work as a private practitioner in Machakos town.
