Eyewitnesses say the wife upon storming the homestead demanded that he be given her share of cattle, a demand that did not go down well with the former husband who threatened to beat her.

"I was busy weeding my maize farm when I heard people arguing loudly in my neighbor's house, I crossed over to the house so that I can find out what was happening," narrated James Kemboi, an elder in the village.

The elder said upon arrival at the homestead, the husband was entering his house while threatening to kill his former wife.

"As the husband was in his house, the wife went to a place where the cattle were grazing and drove them away through the Ziwa trading center," said Kemboi.

When the husband noticed that his cattle were missing, he quickly ran after his wife who was at this time past the center.

He later managed to catch-up with the wife who abandoned the cattle and ran away fearing to face off with his angered wife.
