A middle-aged man operating a hotel is said to have stolen Sh10, 000 from his boss, before disappearing without a trace.

The man is said to have stolen the cash during an early morning working day after they had been woken up to start preparing tea for their early customers.

The owner is said to have stepped out for a short while, giving the suspect the opportunity to sneak into his bedroom and make away with the cash.

The young man then tried to run, boarding the earliest matatu from the place en route to Kisii town.

The boss, on realising the cash had disappeared inquired from the other employees on the whereabouts of the suspect, only to realize that he had left.

They followed his tracks, knowing that only one matatu had left the not-so-busy route, with the owner taking another matatu and following his tracks.

He was later apprehended on his way to Kisii, forced to return the cash he had stolen.

The boss, however, did not press for charges and decided to let him go, but until after he had been thoroughly punished by other travelers as well.
