The gates to the city hall were locked as member’s efforts to try and gain access were fruitless.

This is after the Speaker Ann Adul wrote to the City Manager and the county government notifying them that no session should be transacted by the MCAs at the premises.

“I take this opportunity to draw your attention to the fact that the County Assembly is currently on a long recess from December 2, to February 7, 2017,”said Adul.

She further stated in the letter that consequently no purported business of Assembly should be transacted at the Municipal Chambers during the recess.

“By copy of this letter the city manager is informed not to provide access for members to transact any plenary sittings effective on 2nd December until further notice."

The letter was copied to the copy secretary and the Governor Jack Ranguma.

Members were furious as they claimed they are not yet on recess hence the letter was malicious.

They were forced to hold their session at the Assembly premise which is under construction.

During the sessions on Tuesday, the members overruled the decision by the speaker and vowed to continue with their sessions until further notice.
