Revelers in a local bar on the outskirts of Eldoret town were on Wednesday treated to a rare ordeal after a mother flushed out her daughter who was on a drinking spree with a sponsor.
According to eyewitnesses, the daughter and his sponsor entered the bar at around 4.00pm and went straight into the drinking mode.
The sponsor was estimated to be in his 40s while the girl was barely 25.
“I was selling vegetables when I saw the man moving into the bar in company with the girl holding hands and wondered how a father would take her daughter two a bar," said Ann Kimani who has business near the bar.
Two hours later, locals were attracted to a commotion at the famous local bar after three people were 'thrown' outside the bar with an elderly lady yelling and the young lady who had earlier entered the bar with the sponsor.
It was later revealed that the older lady was the mother of the young girl he was yelling at.
Nicholas Kiptanui who was drinking at the bar when the incident happened said the mother unexpectedly noticed her daughter and she could not take it and started beating her daughter who was rescued by the witnesses.
“The lady was surprised that her daughter was not at school and yet she had sent ten thousand shillings for her upkeep," said Kiptanui.
The sponsor, however, managed to miraculously escape from the angered crowd.
