An ODM rally in Homa Bay turned chaotic after two politicians engaged in a fist fight, on Sunday.
Trouble started when supporters of Governor Cyprian Awiti and Kasipul-Kabondo MP Oyugi Magwanga attempted to reach the main dais at Homa Bay Stadium.
The governor's supporters chanted slogans in support of his re-election, while Magwanga's men said he (Awiti) must be voted out come 2017 polls.
Magwangwa has declared interest in the county's gubernatorial seat.
Things got out of hand when Homa Bay Town MP Opondo Kaluma engaged Washington Ogaga, who is seeking to unseat him, in a physical fight.
Their supporters joined the fight by hurling stones, forcing leaders on the dais to scamper for safety.
Area Woman Rep Gladys Wanga rushed to the stadium to calm the situation down, but was not able to, as supporters of the four leaders escalated the fighting.
Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma and Dr Hezron Mac Obewa fled the scene when things became uncontrollable.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho later arrived at the stadium and calmed the warring supporters and their leaders.
