EALA MP Simon Mbugua has claimed that his life is in danger after he was surrounded by officers at the Panafric hotel just as he was about to address the press.
Mr Mbugua said that he had had to change four cars on his way to the high-end hotel for fear of his life.
He claimed that CID officers were being used by certain forces to silence him, saying that he would not be silenced by anyone.
'' This country is slowly sliding back to the old days. I had to change four cars when coming here because my life is in danger. You can arrest me as many times as you want. You can charge me as many times as you want but you will not silence me,'' Mr Mbugua said.
The EALA legislator has been at the centre of a row over the roughing up of Timothy Muriuki, the former chairman of the Nairobi Central Business District Association.
Mr Mbugua is the immediate former Kamukunji legislator.
