Chaos erupted at Bishop Stam hall in Kakamega, Wednesday, after Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong’s nomination certificate went missing at a function where successful candidate were being handed over their nomination documents.
Irritated supporters allied to the governor caused anarchy demanding for the certificate. They confronted the Western Kenya ODM election board chair Norah Anindo forcing police to intervene.
The event was stopped briefly before the situation returned to normalcy.
Anindo noted the certificate had not been printed but according to ODM deputy party leader, and Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, who had gathered the winners to receive their certificates.
Ojaamong’s' is said to have had an error and therefore needed to be corrected.
Oparanya confirmed the certificate would be printed soon.
Ojaamong’ beat Funyula MP in the ODM Busia gubernatorial race, however Otuoma protested the results and accused the governor of rigging him out.
