A pastor in Embu County shocked many on Wednesday after he camped at the Gakwegori funeral home, with the hope that his wife will rise from the dead.

Together with his followers, Pastor Robinson Githumba of the Eagle Prophetic Church sang and shouted, hoping that a miracle will happen.

They carried bibles and prayed, hoping that Polly Kagendo, who died of TB at the age of 38 on Sunday, will resurrect.

"I know she will be visited after three days the way Jesus visited Lazarus and woke him up from the dead," he said with a lot of enthusiasm.

"I know this will also happen to my wife," the pastor said, as quoted by The Star.

The father of four said his wife fell sick and was rushed to Mwea Hospital where she died.

He even carried her clothes to put on in case she rose from the dead.

Githumba insisted that his wife was not dead, but only resting and would resurrect on the fourth day like the biblical Lazarus.

Meanwhile, family members are continuing to make burial arrangements.

The deceased is expected to be laid to rest this Saturday.
