“Four armed police officers arrived at the church and two of them entered the church and handcuffed the pastor without explaining to us what crime he had committed,” said Florence Barango.

Another follower, Lawrence Gichana, condemned the officers for disrespecting the word of God and said they should not be used to intimidate and blackmail their pastor.

“The officers interrupted with the church service when they arrested pastor Mokua while the service was still ongoing. It is unacceptable and police officers should learn to respect the men of God,” he said.

He added that the pastor was later in the evening released unconditionally from police station and the police who arrested him failed to give a detailed explanation.

The officers at the station declined to comment on the mysterious arrest.
