A pastor was beaten up by angry passengers of a bus in Garissa for allegedly preaching about an accident.
The pastor allegedly preached doom for those who didn't contribute to his basket.
The angry passengers in the 42-seater ganged up against him beating him mercilessly while canning him asking him to revoke his utterances.
It took the effort of some of the conductors and drivers to save the pastor from the angry mob.
"We were seated when he got into the car and told us he was only preaching for our salvation and not money before asking for money from passengers. We anyway expected that for that is how they solicit money," noted Mary Wangeci on the bus traveling to Nairobi.
"We got annoyed after he prophesied that some of us who did not contribute may not make it well. This angered us and we decided to teach him a lesson," said Alfred Mugambi.
The conductor of the bus noted that the pastor always got his daily bread from the preaching.
"We always allowed him to pray for the passengers. He sometimes does what he did today. I had warned him but he did not listen after the passengers started lamenting," said Ishmael Abdi.
