Drama was witnessed in Nyasagati area, Kisii County after two children were found in possession of illegal brew.

Area chief, Benson Mosumari said that the two children were found in possession of 35 litres of chang'aa and 230 litres of kangara during a crackdown on illicit brew. 

He said that the two underaged, were arrested after their parents and other accomplices disappeared when they spotted police officers in their compound.

"The police were forced to retain the underaged at Kerina police station for more investigations," said Mr Mosumari. 

The underaged a girl 15 and a boy 12 are held at the station.

“The girl was arrested on Monday evening and released on Tuesday morning but we are still looking for the parents,” Mosumari said.

He however confirmed that the police did not intend to arrest the standard 8 girl but they were forced after she provoked them.

“We will ensure that the parents of the children are arrested for they are the leading brewers of illicit liquor that has already been banned by the Government” said Mosumari.
