Drama ensued last week in Iranda, Nyakoe Market, Mosocho in Kisii County, after a younger wife almost set ablaze her co-wife.

The incident happened after the first wife went to visit the husband, who stays with the younger wife.

It is reported that the husband moved out of their home and rented a house with the younger wife, where they have been living together.

On this particular day, the first wife had gone to ask for school fees for their children, when the second wife attacked her, almost setting her ablaze.

She is said to have used paraffin, which she poured on her, but was restrained before she could light a matchstick.

The chairman of the Iranda Market, who tried to stop them, was not spared either, as the woman unleashed fury on him.

He suffered the same fate as the first wife, with the agitated woman pouring more paraffin on him as well and the house she was staying in.

The residents came to their rescue and accused the woman of being a devil for not valuing other people’s lives.

They said she masquerades as a pastor, but deep inside she is evil and has had numerous altercations with other people in the area.

The owner of the rented house gave her an ultimatum to move out, or else she will be evicted.
