A woman aged 50-year-old wants justice after her 27-year-old son forcibly evicted her from home on claims that she is a witch.
The incident happened on Sunday at Mwamuma village, Kiomoncha, Marani Kisii County.
The woman identified as Pamela said her son chased her away from home on grounds that she has bewitched him.
“I have no place to go after my only son evicted me from home claiming that I am a witch. I am not a witch and my enemies are pushing and inciting my son to chase me from home so that he can sell land to use the money to drink alcohol and enjoy with prostitutes,” she said.
She accused area assistant chief identified Job Morema for giving a deaf ear to her complaints.
“Efforts to get help from the area chief have not given fruits because the chief seems to be colluding with my son to force me out. I am calling on Interior Cs Fred Matiang’i to intervene and ensure my son who has turned against me is arrested and prosecuted,” she noted.
However, the chief denied colluding with the woman’s son to chase her from home saying he has summoned the man to his office in vain.
“The woman’s son has not reported to my office as I instructed him to do. I will ensure the issue is heard and determined because the man is unmarried and a chang’aa addict in the village,” said the chief.
