There was drama in Kisumu town on Tuesday when a tout, and one of his passengers decided to go physical to solve their differences.
The vehicle was parked along the road as the two wrestled while the other over Sh 50 bob balance.
According to the passenger, the conductor receives Sh 100 from him and was expected to issues Sh 70 balance.
The passenger, however, noted that the tout shortchanged him and only gave him Sh20 instead of 70.
The tout, on the other hand, noted that the passenger had given him Sh50 and not 100 as alleged.
The two engaged in a bitter exchange of words from Kibuye market to Kondele where the passenger was supposed to end his trip.
On realising he was not going to receive ‘his’ money back, the passenger grabbed the conductor by the shirt denying him access to the vehicle.
The conductor in retaliation punched the middle aged man, after which they started wrestling.
When the driver saw what was unfolding, he got out and attacked the passenger who had pinned down the tout.
Both the tout and the passenger suffered facial injuries.
“The two were urging about balance before they became physical in Kondele,” noted Beryl Ondiso one of the passengers.
Another passenger accused the tout of extorting money from the man.
“I saw him give the tout Sh.100 yet he kept denying saying it was Sh50 and refunded him Sh20. That was not fair at all,” noted Philip Bet.
