Residents of Huruma estate in Eldoret were treated to a drama on Thursday evening after a boda-boda operator was stripped and forced to bathe in public.
The man identified by his peers as Moses Wafula was allegedly stinking and his colleagues could not stand it anymore.
"Moses is our friend, but we cannot take the embarrassment of him stinking so much. It is like he has not showered in two months," one of the boda-boda operators told a crowd that had been attracted to the rare spectacle.
According to his colleagues, most of their customers had complained about Wafula's awful smell and they were afraid that it may affect their business.
"It is either he quits this job or showers. Our customers are now beginning to generalize that we don't shower. And if we are not careful this may adversely affect our business," another bodaboda operator identified as Juma shouted.
Wafula, as he is popularly referred to, was consequently caught off-guard and stripped naked remaining with only his underwear and forced to shower in public.
"This is not good. You should have just told him in private instead of embarrassing him," one woman said to the boda-boda operators in trying to convince them to stop. But her efforts were in vain.
After the incident, Wafula sped off on his Motorbike in anger and embarrassment.
