Controversy is continuing to rock the just-concluded ODM nominations in Mombasa as two fierce rivals for the Senatorial ticket declare themselves winners.Former Mombasa Trade Executive Hamisi Mwaguya who was the front runner for the ticket declared himself the winner of the exercise, and threatened to lead a mass exodus out of ODM if he is not issued the nomination certificate.Mwaguya said he won the race by over 7,000 votes, a claim that has been disputed by his rival, Mohamed Faki, who has declared himself the winner, claiming he beat Mwaguya by over 5,000 votes."Mwaguya announced his results when tallying was still ongoing in all the polling stations.....he only won in Nyali and Kisauni whileI beat him in the four sub-counties,” said Faki, as quoted by the Nation. However, the returning officer David Odada said the Senatorial and Women Representative results have been withheld pending a repeat of nominations in at least 15 polling centres in Changamwe, Jomvu and Kisauni constituencies. The exercise is set for Wednesday (today).
