There was drama in Naivasha on Monday, after residents arrested a convict who was trying to run away from Naivasha GK prison.
The middle-aged man who was half naked was cornered by residents of Kabati village, who immediately on learning that he was a convict, took him to Naivasha police station.
The man decided to make an attempt of running way when he was working at one of the gardens owned by the prison at Kabati along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
Officer in charge of the prison Yusuf Kaitopok confirmed the incident.
“He was convicted last month after he was found guilty of breaking into a supermarket here in Naivasha,” Yusuf said without disclosing the name of the convict.
“He will be arraigned in court tomorrow (Tuesday) morning” he added.
One resident John Mwangi said: "We cant let such people get away, they will still terrorize us".
