Renowned cleric Dr David Owuor's healing mission in Nigeria late last month flopped spectacularly after he failed to perform miracles.

Dr Owuor's visit to the West African nation was poised to be a big affair with commuter buses carrying a message of his visit and a private television network contracted to record and transmit his activities in the country.

According to a Nigerian website ThisDayLive.com, Dr Owuor was approached by believers and non believers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport for miracles but none was forthcoming.

The self-styled "prophet" is even said to have declined to "bless" another man who had a rosary until he removed the 'annoying' religious symbol.

The site questions Dr Owuor's healing credentials as they wrote: “Owuor carries the stigma of a fake preacher, even in his home country. And many decent and self-respecting clergy keep their distance from him."

The site further reports that even though he kept saying that the blind will see, at the end of the day, no blind eye was opened and no lame person abandoned his or her crutches.

Owuor struggled to have a confirmation of his healing prowess in Nigeria, but it was as if God had taken leave of him!

Unlike his prayer rallies in Kenya that attract huge crowds, Dr Owuor's meeting in Nigeria is said to have attracted less that 500 people at a parking lot in Lagos.
