A man suspected of involvement in terror activities was shot by the police over the weekend in Likoni.The police have given a confirmation that they indeed shot the man identified as Hamisi after he defied calls to surrender and attacked an officer with a sword cutting his fingers.Hamisi also tried, the police revealed, tried to grab a gun from an officer with four bullets fired in the scuffle that ensued.''The deceased has been under police surveillance since he went missing from their home in 2012. Police tracked him since his return from Tanzania a few weeks ago. He turned violent when the police had gone to arrest him at around 3 am and was in the process shot dead.'' Mombasa County Police Commander Johnston Ipara said according to an article on the Standard newspaper.Investigations into whether Hamisi had been to Somalia are ongoing.The police are also yet to establish whether the suspect had any criminal history and the terrorist group he had joined.
