David Wambua Mutisya a driver of 74-seater Mitsubishi bus which was spotted in Machakos town ferrying excess passengers and arrested was on Tuesday arraigned in court.

He appeared before senior Resident magistrate Lester Simiyu where he was accused of at around 5 pm on July 1, 2016 he was ferrying excess passengers along teachers college road in Miwani few metres from Machakos-Nairobi road. 

The bus had 141 pupils on board instead of the recommended 74 who had attended Machakos agricultural show. 

Mutisya was released on Sh200,000 bond or Sh100,000 cash bail. 

His case was then scheduled to be mentioned on July19 and be heard on August 17, 2016.
