Police in Eldoret town are investigating an incident in which a driver was on Wednesday found dead inside a truck.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver might have parked the truck on the roadside a few kilometers from the town center after he fell sick.

"The lorry has been here for three days or so but we never bothered to check on it as we had nothing to suspect about it until today when looked at it only to find a body inside," said an eyewitness.

Confirming the incident, Eldoret West officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Samuel Mutunga said they have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the driver's death.

"My officers are already acting on this incident with a view of knowing where the truck was coming from a headed to as well as the cause of the death," Mutunga.

The body was moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret town where it's expected to undergo postmortems.
