The driver of the Kitui fire engine vehicle who on Friday ran over former Kitui mayor Martha Mwangangi has been denied bail by the Kitui High Court.

According to the star, Philip Isika was with two counts,  killing Ex- Mayor Martha Mwangangi and with an intention of wanting to kill Narc leader Charity Kaluki Ngilu on December 15, 2016.

The suspect will now remain in custody until December 28, when the case will be mentioned.

Judge Rose Ombeta in her ruling stated the release of the accused may cause him personal harm from the angry residents and interfere with with the witnesses.

He was at Kitui Ginnery soon after the incident on Friday.
