Drivers demand the speedy completion of Tala - Kilimambogo Road in Matungulu, Machakos County.
They claimed the contractor working on the road was taking time to complete it thereby compromising transport between Tala and Kilimambogo.
The drivers who spoke to this writer in Tala town on Sunday said the contractor had been dragging the work compared to other road projects in the region.
"The contractor Put Sarjevo is taking more time than we expected. It is two years now since the project was launched, but nothing tangible has been done," said spokesman James Kyalo.
Kyalo said the 35 kilometre road which was launched two years ago by president Uhuru Kenyatta isn't even half done.
The drivers said the contractor should hand over the work to another company if he is finding it difficult to beat project completion deadlines.
"If he's unable to fast track the completion of the road he should step down and let another contractor do the job,"Kyalo said.
