This is after the Kisii county government issued a stun warning over picking or dropping of passengers.

Despite many billboards put along the road warning over the act, drivers have been defiant to adhere to the set rules.

This prompted the security officers to use extra force to bring sanity along the ever busy road.

“These drivers are unruly and have vowed never to follow the set rules, change does not come easily and that is what prompted us to come to save the situation,” a police officer said.

Speaking to journalists, James Maina, one of the drivers blamed the officers for mishandling the situation, saying they are the ones to be probed since corruption along that road has gone a notch higher.

“These police officers should not be operating along this road, first they are the most corrupt and they should not say that we have refused to adhere to the set county rules, they just want away to extort extra cash from drivers,” he lamented.
