Kenyan drivers will for the first time be receiving free medical checkups while driving along the major roads across the Country.
The project was launched by the National Transport and safety Authority on Monday at Kiambaa, Kikuyu Constituency along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway where the first medical camp was set up.
NTSA also launched a mobile application meant to assist in real time road safety measures and reporting on careless driving on the roads.
“Drivers will be able to check their diabetes, blood pressure, weight and eye sights in medicals camps spread across various parts of the Country along the road,” said NTSA director general Francis Meja.
NTSA is partnering with doctors across the Country to offer the medical services.
“The exercise is targeting Public Service Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles and Private cars,” said Meja
The exercise will continue to December, as the authority cracks down on vehicles that do not observe traffic laws during the festive season.
