Gitaru Ward Representative Charles Arahuka wants Cord leaders to drop their demands and allow for dialogue over the IEBC stalemate.
The MCA said that opposition leaders were trying to blackmail the government through their dialogue calls, adding that it was improper for Cord leaders to call for dialogue and later issue out demands.
“The government should not give in to dialogue with opposition leaders until when they will drop their weekly protests and demands,” said Arahuka on Sunday.
Arahuka further asked Cord to completely call off their protests in honour of the dialogue, noting that it will be wrong for dialogue to be taking place when Cord leaders are still calling for anti-IEBC protests.
He said that Cord was keen to disrupt peace ahead of the 2017 general elections, and urged Kenyans to keep off Cord protests for the sake of peace ahead of next year’s general election.
