Thika police boss Mr. Shadrack Maithya has asked the residents to make sure they report all criminals selling drugs in the area as they are selling drugs to school going children and youth thus putting the future generation at risk

The police boss was addressing business owners in Thika town this morning from Thika community hall where noted that many cases of drug abuse among primary and secondary schools’ boys had been reported to his office in the recent past by parents and head teachers.

He told parents in the area to be on the lookout against unusual behaviors among their school going boys and even girls, to mitigate on the problem. He also said that some of the parents see funny behaviors in their children and fear to question them about their problems and some of them end up being depressed thus engaging in drug abuse .

The officer further noted that investigations had revealed that some criminals were selling bhang and cigarettes near schools, targeting school children and warned them against the acts as the law will take its course in due time.

“We have received many complaints about school boys and girls smoking marijuana and cigarettes. Their parents and teachers have told me to investigate the sources of the drugs, but it is evident that some criminals operating in business centre and even bushes near schools are adamantly selling drugs to our school children, we are going to send them to prison the minute we get you” The officer said
