Duale says that security in North Eastern has improved over the year’s Jubilee has been in power.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Monday, Duale said that insecurity is no longer an issue in most parts of Northern Kenya.

Duale  observes  that North Eastern residents have freedom of movement something they lacked when they were constantly under terror attacks.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has done well in restoring security in North Eastern, a situation that has boosted the economy,” he said.

Duale said that terror activities had condemned the region to poverty and marginalization.

He urged security agencies not to  tire up in ensuring security in the region that neighbors war tone Somalia.

The leader of Majority in the National Assembly also asked locals to play their role by partnering with security agencies.

He said that the war against terrorism needs concerted efforts.

Terror activities had become rampant in Garissa and Mandera forcing non-locals to flee for their safety.

On Monday Garissa University College marked three years since the deadly Al-Shabaab terror attack that left 148 students dead.

North Eastern Regional coordinator Mohamud Saleh says that security remains heighted at the Garissa University and across the Northern Kenya region.
