National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has accused Cord leader Raila Odinga of discrediting agencies involved in preparing the August 8 general elections.
Addressing the media at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, Duale outlined five things the former Prime Minister is doing to destabilise the country ahead of the next election.
He said Raila is propagating claims that Jubilee will rig the August polls by linking National Intelligence Service (NIS) to the ongoing listing so as “prepare his supporters psychologically for violence".
“He is no longer asking his supporters to come out to register as voters but instead resorted to inciting and scaring people,” said Duale.
The Garissa Township MP noted that the opposition chief is inciting Kenyans by: discrediting the IEBC commissioners and its secretariat by alleging they are registering foreigners and discrediting the National Registration Bureau.
Duale also added that Raila is stopping the audit of the voters’ register by filing a case in court and similarly challenging the recruitment of a firm to print ballot papers to lay ground of disputing the election results.
Raila on Tuesday said the government is using the NIS to interfere with mass voter registration by deploying BVR kits to Ethiopia and Uganda to list foreigners as voters to back Jubilee in August polls.
Both the government and IEBC have refuted the allegations telling the Cord leader to produce evidence supporting his claims.
